I have the above vehicle and use the key pad on the door to lock. Have not had a problem. But, it records mileage when I tow

I have the 2015 Lariat as my toad and lock the doors using the door keypad without any problems. However, the miles are recorded when towed. Ford tech support told me nothing can be done about the mileage.

Buy a new Dodge Laramie Longhorn, no mileage recorded!

OK. So, what I am hearing, for a 2015 Ford F-150, is that:

a) the "alarm going off when locked" situation can be 'fixed' with proper towing set-up procedure.

b) there is no way to avoid recording mileage while towing.

Do I understand this correctly?

Well I looked at the locks situation and there is a key hole on drivers door only and there was a key with my owners manual. I locked it and opened others doors jumped around in back no alarm.

I also did what the above poster said and used keypad on door, works as well with no alarm.

Alarm only goes off using the smart key fob to lock.

Interesting that it accrues miles, I won't be happy about that! I don't think previous models did that. Hard to believe there isn't a fuse to pull to take care of that or battery cable?

Just curious for the poster mentioning the Laramie longhorn, how much does that way with the v8, 4x4, super crew cab and 6.5 ft bed? Last I looked was around 6k.

These new f150 are pretty amazing, same configuration above and mine weighs 4899.

Not sure where you're accruing miles... I have about 7,500 miles on my 2015 F-150, but towed it over 10,000 miles to/from Alaska this summer. Those Alaska trip miles were not recorded on the odometer. Very easy truck to tow.

What F-150 model do you have? I'm interested in King Ranch model.

It would be especially bad to accrue mileage during the warranty period...

I have a 2015 F150 Lariat, with the push button start. Use the key to lock door, in the door handle. It does not add miles to odometer when being towed.

Excellent, I'm glad to hear this as I was starting to regret this choice of vehicle. I have the Lariat as well.

i wonder what these folk are doing that is making their vehicle accrue mileage? Perhaps towing with fob in vehicle or locking with fob rather than key?

Seems strange

Fob is not kept in the truck And doors are locked using the door combination pad. Ford tech support says there is no mileage recording remedy.

After setting the vehicle to tow via the owners manual, how are you locking the doors? I am using the door pad. Maybe that has some connection to the miles being recorded. Although, Ford tech support says there is no remedy for recording the mileage.

Goodspinach; Mjay states they lock the door with the key in the door handle. Have you tried this instead of using the keypad? Maybe this is the "key" to the solution.

I have a 2015 F150 Platinum. It is very easy to tow and set up. It does NOT accrue mileage. Ya gotta be doing something wrong. I just towed it from Detroit to South Texas (1800 miles). I have locked it, left it unlocked and it had the same mileage
