Flat towing a 95 Jeep Cherokee

Hi,

I recently purchased a 95 Jeep grand cherokee. I have the road master hitch that came with my motorhome. Before I invest in the additional parts, does anyone have any real world experience on how these tow behind your MH ?

What transmission and drive train does the GC have? If it is a 2WD, then it cannot be towed without disconnection the driveline.

Do you have a second lever to put the transfer case in neutral? If so, it can be towed 4 down

I should have been more specific. It has an automatic transmission and it is 4 wheel drive. It sounds like I am in luck! Now I need to find some base plates

Looks like you are good to go. The old Cherokees tow just great.
Specific procedure for your Jeep is:
  • Transfer case in Neutral
  • Transmission in Park
  • Ignition switch one click back from On so the dash lights are out but steering wheel is unlocked and free to turn.
  • Parking brake Off (ez one to forget!)
Have fun!
