Flat towing a Chevy Traverse.

Set up my son's Traverse to flat tow on our out west trip and when we turned at an intersection where there were painted cross walks the thing would straighten out and when it hit the bare pavement the wheels went back straight and let out a scream in order to go back following the motor home. ??? It seems that the tires loose traction on the paint stripes and straighten out on there own and squeal when getting off of the paint stripes. SOOOOO we went back home and got the old faith full Suzuki XL7 that never lets us down. Anybody tow one of these things?? Been towing toads for years and never heard tell of anything like this. Thanks Ray

I have never experienced that, but my old F150 would spin tires if those stripes were wet. They seem to be very slick. It may be an issue with the tires. I changed from the michelin tires I had to some all terrain. The spinning stopped.
Hope that helps.

Ray, I've towed our Chevy Traverse almost 15,000 miles and behind two different motorhomes and have never experienced any problems, actually it tows very well. Perhaps it's your towing equipment set up? We have been using a Blue Ox Aventa.

You didn't state the year of your vehicle. In the 2015 Dingy Guide it states the following:

Traverse FWD/AWD 4,713 65 MPH/None

Remove 15-amp ECM fuse, the
15-amp OnStar fuse and 50-amp
BATT1 fuse. Run vehicle at the
beginning of each day and at each
RV fuel stop for about 5 minutes.

Chevrolet Traverse wiring question

I am equipping my new 2016 Traverse with a Blue Ox tow bar and base plate. Question I have is on wiring. I am considering the Blue Ox wiring kit which requires mounting new bulbs in the tail light/brake light assembly. Does anyone have this type hook-up or are there better wiring kits available?
