I used a driveshaft disconnect on a different toad and as long as you keep it lubed , adjusted , and clean it works good.

I've had a Remco/Superflow driveshaft disconnect on my '03 Yukon 2WD for 3 years/24,000 miles. Works great, couldn't be happier with it. Just keep it clean and occasionally lubed with spray silicone. I doubt they will just sell you the coupler...because that is where the earlier problems stemmed from. Having some shop cut the end off your driveshaft and then welding the coupling was a gamble, especially if they did not properly balance it. Superflow in Des Moines makes driveshaft balancing equipment and they bought the rights to the Remco coupling. They will sell you a new driveshaft and you can keep your old one in the box. The basket is no big deal to mount to the differential and the cable is fine if you properly install it without any kinks.

I installed mine on a 2wd Ford Expedition fairly simple. The most time consuming was the cable.
