We recently purchased a class A after owning a 5ver for a number of years. Our (2) vehicles, a 05 Hyundai Tucson AT 4wd SUV and a 01 Ford Ranger PU AT 4wd which pretty well eliminates towing 4 down or with a dolly. I have been looking at a 18ft all metal flatbed trlr with electric brakes and was looking for input from others who have had a similiar setup. Any towing issues or other things to look out for?

I think Remco has kits to convert most Ranger models for 4 down towing - have you checked with them? Remco Towing Look in the vehicle charts for Ford models (its a huge spreadsheet) or simply call Remco and ask. They always seem happy to answer questions. 1-800-228-2481

JC, I think by the time you added the weight of the trailer and the vehicle you put on it you will exceed the weight rating of the MH. The other issue is what to do with the triler once you got to where you were going. Check more into just towing 4 flat or down and let us know how else we might help.

After much thought and going with my gut instinct along with numerous advice, I'm going with a 2004 Chev Cavalier, 4cyl, 5spd which can be towed 4 down w/o any mods other than a towbar kit/auxillary brakes. The cars weighs around 2700 lbs which will be a far cry from 55-5700lbs using a flatbed to haul our current vehicles. I would rather bite the bullet and know I'm within limits than try to strech it.
