Ford Edge Base Plate

I'm getting my 2011 Ford Edge Sport set up to tow, so my question is this.
I do not have the Adaptive Cruise Control so it calls for the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit with the Hitch Pin Attachment BUT I would like to use the Roadmaster's EZ Base Plate with the Twistlock series brackets that is made for the Adaptive Cruise Control. Has anyone did this? Can't see why not.
Blue Ox has the Twistlock pins but I don't what that base plate because the pins stick out a lot higher up on the grill where the Roadmaster pins are down lower plus Roadmaster comes with a cross bar that I like (stronger built) and I also have the rock that goes on the bar.
Thanks for any help on this.

2 Stroker-

Hmm. Although the baseplate you'd like to use (EZ style, part 524426-1) does have twist-in brackets, it also pokes through above the "bumper." The one recommended for your model Edge (XL style, part 4408-1) pokes through below the bumper. So, the appearance advantage seems to go to the XL.

A call to Roadmaster should confirm if your idea is possible.
