Ford Escape - T/Light wiring?

Just acquired a new 2010 Ford Escape for use as a toad and want to wire tail/stop lights direct. I have read that an additional bulb kit is recommended for this vehicle but it does not appear there is much room for another bulb in the taillights (there are already two bulbs now). My question is: Has anyone wired an Escape with diodes or does anyone know a reason that would not work on this vehicle? I am planning on using the Roadmaster Universal Wiring Kit #154.

Any help would be appreciated.

I used four diodes and it works great. It's a lot simpler than installing extra lights.
