I've heard that I can not tow my Ford Explorer because of the style of transmission, but you can install a trans pump to fix this problem. Is this true and if it is does anyone know where I can buy these accessories.

What Ford Explorer do you have, what type trans. Typically only 4X4 can be towed.

It's a 2x4. 2007 XLT

I tow a 2011 Ford Explorer XLT all four down 2x4. The instruction are in the owners manual. Only problem is you have to leave the key on assy, which will run down battery. I tried several kits that only half worked so rigged up a hot line off the MH battery with a fuse and put connecters on it and just plug it in while connecting the explorer up.

I just bought a 2011 explorer 4x2 and the manual says you can tow , like previous member said just leave in assary position and shift through the gears to lube it good and do it every 6 hours. I've got base plate but still have to installed so my story will be continued.

If you don't have a owners manual with the info on towing your year.
Do a google search and download a PDF for yours.
