Ford Flex and RoadMaster XL Bracket Problem

If you get a new Ford Flex and are going to use the Roadmaster XL Bracket, beware. The unit I received had the drivers side mounting plate welded on backwards. The correct spacing between the top two holes in the plate are 5 3/8 inches OC and the bottom tow holes are 5 inches OC. The Passenger side is correct, the drivers side is reversed. Measure the mounting plate you get before you take the car apart or you will have to just put it back together.

Roadmaster was contacted by the dealer about the problem when they opened today and they were told; if it was on one of them, it probably is on all of them. They continue to call Roadmaster for a solution, but as the case with most manufacturers, their service now sucks and they will not or can not return calls.

Here I sit with my car in pieces and no return phone calls. Either one of two situations exist; they are short of talent to return calls, or they have so many problems with quality that they can't keep up with all the calls.

Roadmaster is now closed for the day and still no answer back, which is it Roadmaster?

Update, got a call from Jody is Customer Support and I use that term very loosely.

There answer is oh, that's a problem we will not pay to have the bracket fixed and we have no more of the brackets in stock and if we did, it would take 7 days to get there. It is not our policy to authorized repairs to our products.

When questioned, he had no answer.

Roadmaster goes on my "SUCKS" list for customer support and service. Consider Blue OX for your next purchase, I hear that they care and have good customer support!

Jim
