Ford Hybrid 12 volt battery dying

Towing a Ford Hybrid. I have an Air Force One breaking system with a Brake Buddy battery maintainer. The 12 volt battery still goes dead on the hybrid while towing. Have checked the voltage at the fuse on the Brake Buddy maintainer and at the battery. It is just barely keeping it up to a trickle charge. All lights are being run by the tow connection. So the only other thing might be when the Air Force brakes and the brake lights draw some current from the car battery. This does not seem like it would be enough to kill the battery but somehow it is dying. Any idea on what to check next? Thank you.

You will need to be more specific. Year, make and model please. While I am not familiar with flat towing and installing auxiliary brakes on towed vehicles, I am familiar with wiring and hybrid repairs. I suspct the wiring from RV to the "toad" is not properly done. Pics of installation might be helpful.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

How long does it take to run the battery down? You may need to establish a direct connection from the coach batteries to the toad battery through the umbilical cord.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
