Hey all, I am new at this and trying find something to tow. I tend to like a Ford Ranger 4x4. Does anyone know if they have a manual transfer case with the automatic or if they can be towed without a driveline disconnect?

I have been working to setup a 2005 Mazda B4000 4x4 Pickup. Manual 5 speed.
Basically a Ford Ranger. Before I bought I checked out the Automatics in Ford and Mazda . If it is an automatic , you will need a driveline disconnect.

On some years of the Ranger, Ford makes and sells a "true neutral" kit for the transfer case. You would have to check with Ford to find out what years would work. Ours is a manual trans so it was a non issue.

I tow a 2008 Ford Ranger 4x4 automatic. It takes a neutral tow kit. Kit is just a light to tell you its in neutral and ready to tow. Its just a reflash of the computor. My local Ford dealer did mine. Total cost $156.00. I installed Blue Ox baseplate myself, which is very easy on a Ranger. There is also a ready made spot for a separate socket and bulb in tailight housing for the lights. Again very easy install. I believe the 4x4 Ranger auto is towable back to 2005 with the kit installed, but check to be sure. Good luck and just ask if you have anymore questions.
