I am looking at buying a 2001 Ford Ranger Edge 4X4 to tow behind my motorhome. It has a manual transmission. Can it be flat towed?

I think it probably is but you should check your manual or with Ford to be sure. Here is a site that lists towable vehicles.Dinghy Towing and Dinghy Guide

Here is the Owners manual, check out page 156 looks like it can be towed.http://www.motorcraftservice.com/pub.../01ranog4e.pdf

Couldn't find a copy of the Dinghy Towing Guide for 2001. Seems 2002 is the oldest. May be someone here has a copy of the 2001 guide

Put transfer case in neutral, transmission in 2nd gear. Some Fords have a distance restriction of 200 miles, where you'd need to stop, start the Ranger engine and go through all the gears then you're good for another 200 miles.
