We have a small Ford dealership here and they had no questions or problems about doing the flash in fact they made it seem so simple is why I found the hill to check out that they did it correctly.

I'm guessing it would be brighter once it's flashed.

A followup: After calling 7 dealerships, none seemed to have any idea what I was talking about. One insisted that I needed the special switch to activate the feature and no programming was needed.

The local dealership said they were willing to give it a shot.

With not much confidence and blank stares, I dropped the explorer off last friday and requested that the neutral tow feature be activated. I gave them the key, my phone number, and told them the detailed instructions to perform the procedure were on the dashboard and walked away hoping for the best.

3 hrs later, they called and told me the car was ready (and they did a couple of recall/repairs as well). Only charged me 1/2 labor to boot.

Feature works perfectly.

Installed the demco baseplate this weekend and she's ready to go.

Thanks for all the help John and this great web site.

Thank you for the update, for the record I take it that the LED light was brighter once the system was flashed?

Yes. Nothing dim about when it flashes after going through the engine off-brake pedal procedure.

Here is the link for the V6 version. Neutral Tow Kit | The Official Site for Ford Custom Accessories Just ordered it for my 2010 Sport Trac. Having it installed tomorrow.

Our fleet dealer first said it couldn't be installed on my truck since it was a 4 x 4, sent him the link and they ordered the part.

There is also a version for the V8
