Thanks for all you imput...My vehicle is still under warranty so I will wait till it clears and then tow it if I don't get a towable vehicle first. My dealer said that it would eventually wreck the transmission on my 2010 Honda.

The dealer has to say that, because American Honda has done no formal testing on this model. The dealer would be assuming liability if they told you otherwise. When I was a service manager for Honda I had to tell people the same thing, but I tow my Accord anyway.

If you haven't bought a tow car, the safest way is just to buy manual transmission. Throw it in neutral and forget it.

I used to believe this. It is no longer true. Not all manual transmissions are tow-able.

Well the easiest way still is to check MOTORHOME MAGAZINE guide to towing. You can find it online. But usually a manual is a good bet. I was surprised how easy the Ford cars with automatic trans are though. We bought a Ford Focus sport model with a manual trans to be safe. We enjoy driving a manual trans.

We have a 94 Accord with a manual transmission that I am getting set up to tow. I don't expect problems. Sure do want a new CRV though. My wife wants better millage, but we'll see later in the year or next.

I can not speak specifically about the accord,, But ALMOST every car can either be towed 4 down "As delivered" or it can be modified so that 4-down towing is safe.
RemcoTowing is the company that seels the modification kits. (or at least one such) OF the 3 types of products they sell (The third being a lubrication pump that electrically circulates the transmission fluid keeping everything nice and slippery) again of the 3 products they sell. two of them turn your "Car" (or truck) into a true trailer, NO POWER TO THE WHEELS, The transmission is thus left in Park (or in gear for a stick).

That is no longer true. Several of the manual transmissions are not towable four down. It has something to do with the high gear not getting lubed while towing.

I am towing a 2012 Civic. Like most Honda's It is not Honda approved for towing, but I have not had a problem. Call Remco to be sure. The only Honda's that can NOT be towed is the HYBRED.

BillnDeb yes I tow an 09 Accord auto it is the 4 cyclinder but probably same thing. I just make sure it runs for 3 minutes and I shift from drive to N. I never go more than 400 miles in a day so I never think about a restart. No problems.
