Has anyone towed the 08 CRV w/o pulling the fuse or make a cut off switch. If so how? The large panel and down on your knees with a flashlight trying to reach that fuse is a deal breaker for us and we really like the CRV.

I haven't done it, but I did provide a possible solution to a similar request in the forum above (MH - Problems, solutions & aftermarket)

My 06 CRV towing instructions make no mention of pulling a fuse. Is that something particular to the 08?

A switch for the fuse isn't hard to make - the only challenge is to find something that will plug into the existing fuse socket so you can attach a wire. Another fuse will do if nothing else is handy - break it open and cut the link between the blades (the actual fuse) and then solder a wire to each blade. One wire goes to another fuse of the same amperage as the one you are replacing and then to the switch. the other wire connects to the other side of the switch. Make the wires long enough to mount the switch somewhere convenient. Wire gauge should be sufficient for the fused amperage.

Here is a link for the switch. I bought one in 2005 and the price was about half of what they are asking now, and that was more than enough.

Thx for info. Have talked to several others on another forum who run the 07 and 08 w/o pulling the fuse. Just run it every 4 to 6 hours.

Yes, you can just run the engine frequently and long enough to top off the battery...Or, as I have done in both our '05 and '08, install a Toad-Charge or similar "charge wire" setup which will use the RV's batteries/charging system to keep the Honda's battery up.

Did you ever install a cut off switch for your Acadia inside the passenger compartment? I'm setting up my Enclave and am having a problem finding a convenient pass through from the engine compartment to the passenger compartment. Thanks

Thanks Bill, I've considered that too. Did you mount the BB in the battery compartment or in the engine compartment? Thanks
John

I have a 2008 CR/V the manual does not mention a cut-off switch. We tow happily without it.

So you don't pull the fuse. How often do you run the engine.
