Want to see if I have everything or if anyone knows of any lower prices? I have a 1999 Fleetwood Southwind, can tow up to 5k and the toad is a 2008 HHR SS with an auto. Car weighs around 3,200 lbs. Here is what I'm getting ready to order:

Blue Ox BX1685 Base Plate for Chevy HHR SS 09 Camper RV : eBay Motors (item 360241219369 end time Apr-05-10 11:30:43 PDT)

Blue Ox BX4325 Aladdin Tow Bar 22 lbs Class III RV : eBay Motors (item 320496881841 end time Apr-03-10 11:56:19 PDT)

Blue Ox BX88229 Towing Accessories Kit Camper RV : eBay Motors (item 280474525909 end time Apr-05-10 11:30:17 PDT)

Blue Ox BRK2010 Patriot Braking System Camper Trailer : eBay Motors (item 360240673409 end time Apr-03-10 11:49:01 PDT)

I know I'll need a step down receiver but can get this locally once I take the measurements.

If you plan on keeping the Toad, I would look at the SMI Stay-N-Play braking unit. I had an EvenBrake system that I replaced with the SMI Stay-N-Play and I highly recommend it.

I'll check into this. Was the install/setup fairly easy?

Thanks for the link. They don't list the baseplate BUT this still saves me over $200!

I had the SMI installed as I was on the road when the EvenBrake failed. I believe a lot of RV owners have installed it themselves. I believe you can buy it for about $1000. Their Tech support in great.

Hello,

I just got my new 2010 Blue Ox Patriot Braking system and am trying to set it up on my 2004 Jeep Wrangler Sahara. It looks like it is not compatible with my wrangler as the Jeep has a large seat release bar in front of the seat. When the brake is actuated it pushes against my seat release and the seat slides back. It looks like a really nice set up but I don't think it will work on a wrangler. I will sell to a IRV2 member for $875 (had a great coupon). If you live close to Rockford, IL and are interested send me a pm.

Joe

Joe, I already bought mine. Have you thought about making a simple removable panel out of a 2x6 that is notched for the seatbar so as not to move it's position?

Can you tow a 2010 Fusion that has an automatic transmission, or is it manual only?

Yes you can tow 2010 Fusion four down auto. You have to have trans fluid at a special level and run 5min before tow and shift trans Dr to rev and then to neutral
and not tow 6hrs continous ,stop and start for 5min again etc and not drive over
65 mph. I have a 2.5l fwd SEL
