Given a Stowmaster 5000, which toad?

Originally, the people we were buying our 2008 FW Fiesta from we’re going to sell us their Chevy Tracker toad but they decided to keep it. But they gave us their Stowmaster 5000 and all of the parts off of their Tracker. Multiple questions:
1. Can we use it on another vehicle or will we need to purchase new parts?
2. What all parts will we need for the new toad?
3. We have a 2011 Subaru Outback, a 2015 VW Passat, and a 2004 Jeep GC 4x4 with Quadra-Trac II. All automatics. Can any of these be towed?
4. The Jeep needs a lot of engine work before it would be considered to be a reliable car. Probably more work than what it’s worth. Would you put the money towards it or sell it and get something else? We’re trying to stay under $5k. So something else might have just as many issues but that we don’t know about. Jeep only has 118k miles and is still in good condition, other than engine issues.
5. We were told that it’s about $3000 to set up a car to be a toad. Is that right? We’re not very mechanically inclined so we’ll have to pay someone else.

To use the Stowmaster, you will need Roadmaster base plate for your vehicle of choice.

Roadmaster Inc. - Tow Bars, Braking Systems & RV Accessories

Also the Toad will require Lights and a Brake system
