Golf Cart and tow vehicle

I'm having a tough time trying to find a solution to my problem, hope you can help.

We want to be able to bring my golf cart and tow vehicle along as we travel. Don't suggest a pickup truck, because that's not going to happen.

As I posted earlier I was going to make a rack for the rear of the MH, but after listening to your thoughts, I gave up. I think this was a wise decision.

So I went looking for a combination trailer to pull behind. Found one by Race city products. RV Towing Accessories | RV Trailers, Tow Behind Trailers, Motorcycle Trailers and Tow Dollies for sale

After talking to them, they say my vehicle is too large to tow. (I thought a Buick Enclave was a compact car) There maximum width is 76" and they tell me my Enclave is 79". I think this is ramp width. Width between the fenders is 83" on the dolly. I think the platform on the dolly must swivel for turns and this maybe is the problem. It would make the car swing to the fenders in a turn.

Do all dolly's swivel or they stationary? I thought they were fixed like a trailer.

I like the design of the trailer and tow dolly. What would happen if I welded the swivel platform stationary? Boat trailers don't swivel.
This would put it as a two axle trailer.

Again I am looking for your feedback.

Thanks

Horace

The problem with width.... For many years GM advertised he "Wide Track" of many of their cars.. They really are a bit wider than say Fords.. This gives them a lot more rollover resistance.. they also build 'em with a lower center of gravity which also improves rollover resistance, and on SUV's and mini vans use a chassis one size "Heavier" than ford for yet greater stability.

Your dolly was built by a Ford Lover.

I would say if you welded the swivel something will break when you turn. It sounds like you need a trailer big enough for both. I triple tow myself no problems yet. I have seen several racks with golf carts but your looking at approximately 2000 pound rack and a 1000 pound cart cantilevered off the back with a car attached.

What about a full car trailer that has room for your car and cart

since a pickup is not an option???
and your enclave surely is not a compact car ?

your buick should be able to tow a car hauler trailer around the rv park...
may i suggest what we do

but you may not be happy having to move a heavy trailer....
the extended dolly looks IDEAL

we saw a lady at a cg that had a ford egde, four down towed
she also had a small golf cart with lights and seating for two that would stow small enough to fit inside the cargo area of the edge
maybe it would also fit in the enclave???

The Buick Enclave is considered a full sized crossover SUV. It weighs approximately 5,000 lbs, which is pretty heavy. A Chevy Suburban weighs 5,600 lbs.

Where did you get the idea it was a compact?
