Great install at Camping World-Chichester, NH

Hello everyone,

I want to report my outstanding experience I have had at the Chichester, NH Camping world. Last week I had my new 2014 Jeep Cherokee setup for towing behind my HR Navigator motorhome. I needed the base plate/bracket and supplemental break system installed.

As everyone who has had this done knows it can be nerve racking having your very expensive possessions worked on. Brett, the service consultant I worked with was fantastic dealing with all of the logistics and details. He was exceptionally detail oriented and very responsive to all of my nit-picky questions.

Jim, the service tech was amazing. His attention to detail was outstanding and took the care and extra effort to create a neat and perfect installation.

Last but not least, we spent a long time at the store waiting for the installation. This is a time consuming intall. The staff at the store was very warm and friendly. They even went so far as offering to lend us one of their cars or drive us somewhere in town. The store was very clean & comfortable with a nice lounge with cable TV.

I would highly recommend this store for your service. Also, I just can't understand how they can do the installations at the prices they do but glad they do!!!

Stuart, we have the baseplates and I'm waiting for my son to find the time to install them. He installed the plates on our previous Escape and Tahoe.

In looking at where they protrude from the Jeep and measuring the distance between them, it appears the spread of the tow bar arms will be about a foot more than it was with our previous toads. Does that cause any problems?

Thanks

Don

Hi Don,

I do not think there will be a problem as long as you purchase the baseplate/bracket that is specifically designed for this vehicle. It looks perfect and I assume is placed where it is intended to be by the Roadmaster engineers/designers. We towed it about 180 miles on Friday and it worked great. I did not even know it was behind us.

Let me know if I can be of any help.

Stuart

This is my fourth set and believe me, getting and installing the wrong set is not something I'd let happen. It is marked BX1135. My son installed the BO's on our previous Escape and our Tahoe (which we towed behind a DP). I've been in touch with another forum member and he has now towed his Cherokee Limited 6,000 miles with no problems. I have to admit that the 37 inch gap between the tabs looks so strange compared with our prior installations (Colorado, Tahoe and Escape).

Good to hear of a positive experience with CW. I too have had good experiences with CW service. Judging by the often unfavorable comments, unfortunately it seems the quality of service varies widely from location to location.

I'm glad you found a good CW near you. It would be nice if they were all the same quality of service.

Don,

We have the Roadmaster Sterling tow bar and base plate. This is my first experience with towing a car behind a coach so I have nothing else to compare it to. I just went out and measured the distance between the base plate brackets, it was 34 inches. They are a little closer together than the Blue Ox. This is without the removable pieces that the tow bar attaches to.

Are you thinking this is to close together? All I can say is it worked flawlessly. I have read a few comments on the "jeepcherokeeclub.com" forum with similar satisfied customers.

Stuart, they must be a foot or more farther apart than the tabs were on our previous installations. Just looks strange.
