The web site makes it sound like it Should/needs to be done by only one of their dealers or a well qualified car mechanic. The SMI systems look a lot more involved but they seem to suggest if your somewhat mechanical you could install the system on your own.
I'm trying to figure out which system to go with on a 2011 Equinox.

I have installed two M&G units myself. One on a Jeep Liberty and one on a Chev Tahoe. Just follow the directions closely. Really like the M&G. NO ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS.

Make sure the M&G system is compatible with the 2011 Equinox. I was going to use the M&G system on my 2013 Chevy Sonic but when I spoke to M&G they told me it would not fit on the Sonic.

Installed an M&G unit myself in a 2013 jeep wrangler. Had to call them for 1 issue. They are very responsive and great to deal with. IMHO the only system to have. Passive (doesn't require power), proportional, and works!!
