Question HELP! 2016 Ford Edge SEL AWD 3.5L

Just bought this vehicle today for future towing. Got home and after reading the manual, we are totally confused (and a little panicky).

It reads that the transmission must be 6F50/6F55. Can't find that information anywhere on the paperwork. Anyone know if this is just standard? Have read about other folks buying a new Toad, only to find out later it's really not towable. Thank you.

If you have a 3.5 AWD you are good to go. My daughter just got a 2016 with the front camera steering that lets you know if you fall asleep just not the sport model, so far they love it. They traded 2 mercedes-benz 2004 and 2010 to get something that was tow-able.
Love mine.

The 6F50/6F55 transmission is the "standard" 6 speed transmission on the 2106 Edge. Your dealer can confirm that's what you have.

We are towing a 2016 FWD Edge Titanium with a Blue Ox base plate, Aventa tow bar and Air Force 1 Brake system. All-in-all it's a great tow vehicle. Note: The Edge is one of the more difficult vehicles on which to install a base plate because the whole front end has to come off. Not a good DIY project.

The only change we made to Ford's instructions: we had a battery charge line installed so we didn't have to disconnect the negative side of the battery. I called Ford Customer Support to confirm that the negative disconnect is to prevent the battery from going dead and not to protect the transmission or electric power steering. Good luck.

The Window Sticker should say which engine and transmission your new car has.

What do you use for lights? I am told the LED's are not compatible with the MH lights. I really don't want magnet ones stuck to the roof!!
