Help Avoid Dual Power Sources to My Brake Lights

I just bought a 1996 Geo Tracker that is all set up to tow. Who ever had it before me never used a Supplemental Brake System. I plan on using one that applies the brakes.

When the key is turned on to Accessories to unlock the steering wheel and the Brake Peddle is depressed the Brake Lights come on.

When I hook up to the MH I am sure it Brake Lights are wired to come on when the Brake Lights come on on the MH.

So I will have 2 sources powering the Brake Lights.

How do I avoid this? Any Ideas?

Not sure if your Tracker uses the same bulb for brakes and turn signal , but I'm sure that all cars use a brake light feed independant of the ignition switch so there must be a cure. Diodes in the system would stop the toad brake lights from cross feeding into the coach turn signals, but you would lose signals on the toad, when braking with the coach signals on.
Planing on adding an air brake system to my toad so this is something I'll have to figure out too.

MMMM boy , am I dumb.
Just remembered, the last thing I do in my toad after turning on the key to read the digital gear shift indicator , making sure the auto trans is in neutral is to disconnect the battery.
So no brake lights from the toad systems only from the coach.
Dead battery is one of the reasons I'm looking at an air toad brake system.
Depending on the brake system you choose, it could be an option, to hook up direct to the battery to power the brake system , after you disconnect the battery, shutting down the other toad systems .

Does the TOAD have seperate wiring and bulbs installed in the rear lights for the brake/turn signals from the coach? If so you just install a master disconnect switch on the 12v + side from the car's battery near the tow bar.

It has separate brake and turn signals. I did find a fuse under the hood that cut off the brake lights. I don't really have to mess with it and I am not 100% positive it will kill the power.......

It does make more since that I disconnect the battery......

Turn the key to on, then back through acc. to off..DO NOT remove the key and the steering will stay unlocked until you remove the key.

I did notice that but I thought it would be to easy...

As far as the Edge Wiring using diodes I am pretty sure there are already diodes installed from the former owner.

I am really leaning to a disconnect on the battery, it seems like a sure fire way of avoiding the problem of having 2 power sources at the same time. I'm not worried about radio settings.
