Help: Flat towing
We are looking to purchase a 2015 2 wheel drive automatic suv and are having trouble finding one, does anyone know which 2015 suvs are towable? Help... we had our heart set on a Honda CRV but the 2015's can not be 4 wheel flat towed.

2015 Subaru Forester 2.5i, Lincoln MKX 3.7, Chevy Equinox AWD, most Jeeps. Are just a few of the SUV models listed in the newest Motorhome 2015 dingy guide. Sadly because of Government standards changing and car makers pushing for higher MPG they are moving to CVT transmissions. CVT are deemed not flat towable. So I will be keeping my 2010 Honda CRV for years...or until it dies anyway. Its my 2nd car and still has very low miles!
You could also look on the used market. Many low mile leased CRV's are always showing up on the used car lot. Yep they are over priced, but the older Hondas can be flat towed.

We are looking as well, only probably will get a Subaru Crosstrek manual trans.
One thing you really should double check is whatever car you want, look (or Google) at the users manual, under towing, and make sure it is stated you can flat tow 4 down or the warranty will not be valid.

Family Motor Coach Association ( FMCA ) publishes a Toad guide every year that lists vehicles that are towable 4 down. Check out their website.

I was thinking of going to a CR-V when the '05 Odyssey wore out (it's got over 100,000 on the odometer, not counting towing mileage). But not now I guess. The Ody is paid off (years ago), it's set for towing and the body is still tight and somewhat water proof. Tires are Michelin with a 90,000 mile warranty and barely show wear after 4 years. May need to change them just due to time!
Guess we'll keep it for a while longer. Not light at over 4,400#'s but I don't even notice it behind the Magna even without brakes (haven't had time to plumb them in yet and it's not back from Cummins yet, maybe by the weekend)

Subaru!!! Or in our case, a Saabaru. Our Jeep Grand Cherokee makes a great toad too.
