Hi, folks.

I am so new, I don't even know how to spell bus but I am buying a

Greyhound 4905, 40 footer. I want to tow a '98 Chevy pickup behind it.

What is the best way to do this?

Well, first off: is the Chevy even towable?
Towbar
Braking system
Wiring for lights and possibly the braking system.

If the pickup is 4WD, it is probably towable 4-down - if 2WD, probably not without modification. Consult your owners manual to find out if and how to tow. Chevy manuals usually have a section called recreational towing.

If the truck is towable, you will need a receiver on the back of the bus, a base plate on the front of the truck, safety cables, an auxiliary brake for the truck and wiring so the tail lights, brake lights and turn signals on the back of the truck work in concert with those on the MH.

If you do a search on iRV2 for tow bars, toad brakes, base plates, etc. you will get more info. There have been dozens of threads on this in the past.

In addition to the above posts, does your Greyhound have a class three receiver hitch and related electrical connections?

The pickup will have a brake controller. It has no tow bar. It is two wheel drive, it is a '98 with a 6.5 diesel.
The bus has nothing yet.

The rear of the bus has no hitch or wiring for towing that I know of.

Can't I just tap off of the brake, backup and turn signal lights?

I wish that I had an electrical diagram for the bus.

Are the brake, tail, backup and brake lights 12volts or 24?

Can anyone tell me which wires I need to look for?

dicey territory here. I suppose you will have the hitch welded to the frame. And then certainly the wiring plugs would come with a harness to tie into the various electrical buses.

For braking, I like the M&G systems. You can just google that.
