I mounted mine under the drivers seat and ran the cable around to the right under the carpet to the brake pedal.
There is a rubber grommet just up and to the right of the fuse box. Run a coat hanger through it and reach down behind the brake fluid container to find it. That will allow you to pull the wires through the firewall.
Run your rear light wires along the door - push under the trim- and under the rear seat to the spare tire well. Then run them along the drivers side of the spare wheel well. You will see a small hole in the side of the spare wheel well - looks like a vent or drain. poke a coat hanger up the hole - after removing the rear light (bottom)and pull out the rubber grommet where the wires go through the fender. You will hear the coat hanger scratching just inside the fender. When you can see it, reach in with a long pair of forceps or another coat hanger with a hook on it. Pull the ist one slightly out and tape on a pull wire. Pull the ist coat hanger back down into the spare tire well and attach the wires for that side (running, break and turn. Pull then up and through the grommet and use your diodes to attach them to the existing wires. Push the grommet back in and replace the tail light. Run the passenger side wires across the back of the spare wheel well - remove the trim and tape them down so that the trim will hide them when it is replaced (same for running the wires from the rear seat along the drivers side of the spare tire well - use the trim to hide them.. Find the small vent hole on the passenger side and repeat the running of the wires like on the drivers side.
Took me hours to figure it out but it is quite easy the second time. Oh yes I have a 2012 CRV which I believe is the same body.
