Honda crv toad fuse extension
We have to pull a fuse when we tow our CRV more than 8 hours and it is in such a difficult place to get to. Looking for someone who knows if there is such a thing as a fuse extension so we can make it more easily accessible.

I put my fuse on a switch. Took a fuse that had longer spades ends, shorted this fuse so it was open. Soldered a wire lead on each side of this fuse. Connected these leads to a switch with a in-line fuse. Now when I tow, all I have to do is click the switch off.

several companies sell a fuse extension, one of them is blue ox. Here a picture of how I installed the NAV. fuse switch into my 2012 CRV. Since the RV brakes over ride the CRV turn signal, I added a second switch which work the turn signal.

If you search around this site there are other options and suggestions. I believe you can buy a my similar build for $60 or so. I had All of the items that was used. I have since bought a new switch from Honda and will install it next to the "traction control" switch. This cost $38, but looks a lot nicer.

I use a mini fuse puller taped tight to the fuse. It stays on the fuse full time. I trimmed a piece of electrical tape about 1/4" wide and taped it tight close to the fuse to prevent it from opening and coming off. Cost nothing ;-)

Hi roadstar99,
I can not help with a fuse extension. However, consider charging the toad battery as you drive down the road. Consider TOAD-CHARGE Dinghy Vehicle Battery Charger/Maintainer

Roadstar99,
Float your Honda battery to one of your chassis batteries. Fuse it at both ends and run a 16 gauge extension cord with a trailer "plug" (from NAPA). Tow all day, with a supplemental brake package... when we arrive the toad battery is charged! And no fuses are pulled!!

Roadmaster has one called Fusemaster that I installed in my CR-V, set it in the garage like I was towing it for 49 hours and she fired right up. I have had it in for a year and a half, no more dead battery.

X2 on the Toad Charge. Tow our CRV all over the place, never had a battery issue and no need to pull any fuses.

X2, I have a lead from the Chassis Disconnect Switch, through a 20A fuse, through the centre pin on the Trailer Plug to the CRV, then through another 20A fuse and to to Positive post on the Battery.
No need to pull a fuse.
If your rig is a gasser, you can get you power source off the Chassis Battery.

I bought this: GTC CT6100 Fuse Socket Connector Kit : Amazon.com : Automotive
a 30 amp switch from Wallyworld and an inline fuse holder and made my own fuse bypass for about $15.

Thanks to All
As usual, you all came through with a solution to my problem. I am going with the GTV CT6100 fuse socket kit from Amazon and an in-line fuse-holder with a switch. We are out of town and having it delivered here to the campground. Didn't bring a soldering iron but on military base and may be able to use one in the craft shop.
Thanks to all of you. If I'm not able to get a soldering iron while here, going to go with the mini-fuse puller taped to the fuse until we get home. We both thank you. Our backs and our necks thank you and appreciate the time you took to help.
