I've towed both and currently with yet another CR-V. This time a '12 AWD and prior an '05. I also sometimes tow my friends JK Wrangler. Agree with other posts in that if you are going to use the Jeep as a Jeep, then it's the only way to go. If it's minimal off road, minimal exploring fire trails and the like, then the CR-V will get you better mileage, better "road manners", and comfort. As far as hooking them up, I use Blue Ox gear, I found them to be the same. It takes me the same amount of time on either. Down side is if you're looking for one, they are pricey for what they are. Good luck!
