The last year that Automatic Fits were towable was 2013. Honda produced no 2014 Fits. 2015 and later Fits cannot be towed due to the CVT transmission. I have a 2013 which is an excellent tow car. If I was in the market for a tow vehicle, I'd look for a 2013 with low miles. I have a 2012 Winnebago Access 31C.

They were trying to sell me a 13 but I just wasn't as impressed with it as the 13 even though I knew it could not be flat towed.

I bought a 2013 Honda Fit with an auto transmission for our second car and as a tow vehicle for our class C. We've towed it about 5000 miles and driven about 20K miles. It is an excellent tow vehicle and second car. If I were in the market for a tow vehicle today, I'd look for a low mileage 2013 Honda Fit with an auto transmission.

For us, the Fit is a great second car and an outstanding tow vehicle for a class C.

Honda fit

Why automatic versus manual? We are looking at the Fit. What tow bar, braking system etc. do you have? Thanks.

We have a 2012 Fit Sport Automatic. We use a Blue Ox baseplate, Demco tow bar, and a RVi2 braking system. For lights, we use a TowDaddy wiring harness (no longer made) and we use a ToadCharge to keep the battery charged.

Does that help you?

I tow a 2013 Honda Fit with an Auto Trans. Page 159 of the owner's manual where towing behind a motorhome is discussed, it says transmission fluid should be changed every two years regardless of mileage. I had towed my Fit two years before I noticed this. I immediately had the fluid changed and will have it changed every two years. For my wife and me, the Fit is a great toad and second car.

i actually extract and refill once a year. using mightyvac is just so easy. 3.4q maxlife multi-vehicle atf, that is it. so far i towed it for 40kmi already, no issues.
