Honda Pilot...????

I have a 2007 GMC Envoy that has been a fantastic toad, easy everything, and tows perfect. The Envoy is getting a lot a miles on it, and I would like to move to a new unit. We have been thinking about the Honda Pilot. Have any of you towed a Pilot?? Is it easily towable? Do I need a bunch of stuff to make it towable?? Any help would be appreciated.

Honda Pilots after 2005 are not towable four down. Even some of the '05's are not towable. Got this info direct from Honda when asking about a buy back on our '05 Ody that is also not towable four down.
There are only two Honda models now allowed to be towed four down, the Fit and CR-V, nothing else unless you want to void your warranty.

Mr_D is correct. Honda refunded my money on a 2006 Pilot after I discovered they weren't towable four down even though the owners manual said they were.

We read the owners manual with the sales manager at the time of purchase and three months later after putting several thousand miles on the Pilot found out Honda said no towing.

The dealer gave us every penny back with no hassle.

That's better than we got although I could have pushed harder for a buy back. All we got was $2,200 to pay us back for the towing gear we bought and installed. Bought a KK-460 dolly and tow the Ody on it.

Thanks for the info guys. Doesn't look like we will be going with the Pilot. Our next choice is going to be the Toyota 4Runner. I will start a new thread about that one..

Why wouldnt you stay with GMC? Who cares about the mileage on vehicle as long as the engine isnt running?

The odometer does not record miles that it is pulled. The miles I am concerned about are the miles that the engine is in operation. The total miles that it has been towed means nothing. BTW....I am just looking at different vehicles from different companies to see what will work. I will, ultimately probably stay with the GMC...I think the Acadia is a good toad at a fair price.

I did a lot of research when was looking for a toad. If I remember correctly Toyota was not flat towable. I was going to buy a new ford 150 4x4, that was out then, but has now been added back to the flat tow list. I bought a GMC 4x4 pickup. Been very happy. Terrible gas milage, but it is not a daily driver.

Yes, it's some 2005's and all the newer ones that can't be towed.
Pilot is not 4 wheel drive, it's All Wheel Drive (AWD) and they lack a low range for real off road use. Made mostly for safety in slippery road conditions as the front wheels are unpowered till slippery conditions are encountered then a clutch applies power to the fronts.
Our '97 Jeep GC had true 4WD and a low range. Easy to tow too. Would like to get another one in fact. Just wish they got better mileage.
