You should be fine but always check your vehicle manual. You'll need a base plate, tow bar, a taillight wiring kit, and a supplemental braking system. Multiple suppliers but I use and like Blue Ox for the base plate and tow bar and RVi for the supplemental brake.

You can't tow the DSG flat. It will ruin your transmission.

I agree, get a tow dolly.

Good luck.

Gearbox smearbox, does it have a clutch??? If so, it is towable 4 down. There is a shop in NE Portland, Todds that specializes in TOAD setups. Take it to him for a look see.

In my opinion having a clutch is not the determining factor on towability 4 down. The new DSG transmissions have two clutches and cars equipped with that transmission should not be flat towed. Again in my opinion it comes down to how the transmission is lubricated and cooled. When you tow four down the transmission is spinning and will need some lubrication and some eventual cooling.
