I'm looking at possibly buying an '04 Ford Ranger 4WD with an automatic transmission. The salesman believes that the factory kit used for certain 4WD Explorers to disengage the transmission (see the notes in the Motorhome towing guide} can be used on a Ranger because they are the same chassis.

He will be checking with Ford service to see if this is true. There is also a '02 Ranger available and I would imagine (!?!) what would be applicable to one, would work for the other.

I'll be calling REMCO first of the week, but if anyone has any info or knowledge concerning this, I'd appreciate any feedback.

Thanks,
/Fred
