We have a (new to us) 1999 National Tropical 35' RV. We want to tow a 2010 Honda CRV. Since it must be towed on all 4's, it seems incredibly expensive to purchase the tow bar, the package to put under the Honda, the braking system and the wiring for the lights. Any helpful suggestions as to doing all of this in the least expensive way? Thanks, Annie and Danny

Once you're familiar with everything you'll need, I'd suggest going used where possible. Tow bars especially. I'd also suggest looking at the Ready Brake system for brakes.

I went Blue Ox for base plate (found on sale) and tow bar (used), and a new Ready Brake adapter. Purchase price for all was well under 1000.

Expensive maybe, but caries decent resale, and most can be transferred when switching toads or motorhomes.

I tow a Honda CR-V, all four down. Blue Ox 10k tow bar and unified braking system.

I was considering a tow bar or trailer. I'm very glad to have the tow bar.

You don't wanna go cheap with this. Get the best tow bar, base plate to match the tow bar manufacture (a must) and a brake system. Combined package will cost from $2,500 to $4k depending upon the options.

Feel secure and confident when towing 3,000 plus pounds down the road at 70 mph.

The unified tow brake works very nicely and you don't have to remove or install anything each time you tow.

Unified Tow Brake

It is the best
