Exclamation Info on your BlueOx Patriot

My four year old Patriot began to cause swollen blood vessels in my forehead recently. We are on a trip to Alaska and during the last three segments of our trip, I was getting an alarm #4 after driving for an hour or two and applying the brakes in the MH. After a number of calls to BlueOx, it was determined the internal battery is dead and needs to be recharged by plugging it in to a 12V source without turning it on. There is no mention of this in the manual. The purpose of the battery of course is to provide emergency braking should the toad battery go dead for any reason. Makes perfect sense but it would be nice if this information was put into the manual.
In my case, after a few more calls, and two stops later, it was determined the battery is shot and must be replaced. This of course requires the Patriot be sent back to BlueOx. Not a simple task when one is traveling to a new location every 3-4 days or less.
After a little whining and snivelling, on my part, BlueOx agreed to send a new Patriot at current list price to my next stop and and give me a partial credit when I send the old one back for refurbish at the factory. Fair response.
Through it all, I am impressed with the service received from BlueOx and would still recommend the product.
Had I known there was an internal battery that requires attention, I could have sent the Patriot back for service during the winter and not had this aggravation.
I have let BlueOx know my concerns and hopefully they will make a couple of simple changes to avoid this issue.
