I did that exact same install this past weekend. Yes it was straight forward like the directions show. I did the non intrusive wiring. I did forget to use lock tite. I hope that won't be an issue. It took me all Saturday. I am going to be using the Ready Brute Elite Tow Bar with surge Brake.

torque the bolts

not sure the lock tite is that critical, however, you should torque the bolts correctly, I think the large thru bolts 5/8 requires 150 lbs. Safe Travels
