Installing Blue Ox tow plate on a 2014 CRV
I'm getting ready to go 4-down (finally) and am going to have a Blue Ox tow plate installed on my 2014 CRV. Looking at the install video on etrailer.com the installation looks pretty straight forward. Lots of disassembly of the front end plastics, chiseling a few bolts off. Nothing that should take more than a weekend I would think. But I met a guy yesterday who has a CRV a couple of years older than mine and he recommended I definitely have it installed instead of doing it myself. He said there were missing parts, parts that did not fit, and he had to make some brackets himself. Says he owns a metal fab shop and seemed quite knowledgeable.
So my question is, if you installed your own baseplate in your late model CRV, would you do it again or have someone else do it?
Also, if you had it done, how much did it cost?
