Since the Charge Line from the MH to the Toad is connected to the Positive side of the battery, what does turning on the headlights have to do with it?

I also was plagued with dead battery issues (even with a charge line installed) on my CRV until I replaced the OEM Lawn Tractor battery with a new Group 24, 900 AH Real battery. Problem solved.

This might be the issue with the CR-V. It does have a rather small battery.

I ran my Edge battery down a couple of times and quite low a few times. I finally ran a battery charge line. No more of those issues. Other issues, yes.

Likewise we tow a 2014 Edge. First time battery issue came after towing 5 hours, second happened just a few days ago after 4 hours of towing.
How did you run your charge line?

As a matter of fact, I'm told the 2015 CRV has a group 24 battery same as the Odessy. Funny, when I had it in for dead battery problems they insisted the battery was big enough and not a problem. When I went to the parts department to buy the battery box parts for the larger battery, the partsman knew right off what I was going to do and almost had the part numbers off the top of his head. Since replacing the battery, I have not had any problems.

How did you run your charge line?

Since there is already a ground I just put an inline fuse a few inches from the positive post of my battery. Not directly on the post but a nearby junction. Ran the line down and to the socket for the tow wire connection.

My rv already had a charge line but you may have to activate or install a wire for that to be hot. It takes a bit of patience but worth the effort.

Dennis45,
Daytime running lights only turn on the headlights. For this reason, the lights have to be on to take power from the tail lights.

Right, after I made my post, I realized we were talking about a gasser so now it all makes sense.
