Is an 04 VW Beetle 5 speed manual towable ?

Considering towing our 04 VW Beetle Convertable with all 4 tires on the ground. Owners manuel limits towing at 50 mph, for 50 miles. Read a few old post, but unable to find an definet "ok to do". Remco does not list a fluid pump available, and states its ok to tow. Would realy like to hear from some who has actually done it for sometime with out any problems.

Thanks!

2004 Dinghy guide doesn't show any VW as towable.
Remco says it's ok.
Owners Manual says no.

I'm look for someone who has in the past or is currently towing a vw beetle 5 speed.

I need confirmation before I order the mounting brackets at $360.

Thanks!

Seems to me the owner's manual answered your question.
