is anyone with a Ford V10 32 foot pulling a jeep wrangler?

I have a pair of slider locks and the service department said they weren't really needed, is that true?

I have a 2011 35ft Damon with the V10 and pull an 06 wrangler. Demko baseplate on the Wrangler bumper and a Ready Break tow bar with integrated Ready break system. Got about 2500 miles on it so far and no problems.

It drives better than my 08 Damon without the Jeep back there....

Welcome to IRV2.

If you look at the bottom of the page for this thread you started, you'll see a box with "similar posts" which has at least 4 threads along this same line. Or you can search this forum and find threads about this. Tons of great information in them.

A lot of people tow Jeep Wranglers - 2 doors and 4 doors - behind RVs of various sizes.

We tow a 2008, 4 door hardtop behind our 30 foot, V10, Winnebago Vista. No problems so far. Have auxiliary brakes and a break-away system.

Towed our 07 Wrangler unlimited with our 34' Tiffin on a Ford chassis. Did a good job.

Towed our 97 Wrangler with our 99 National with Ford chassis. No problems. Wish I'd kept the Wrangler!

We tow a 1997 Wrangler behind a Damon Challenger 38 ft.MH. The Jeep tows great and is very easy to get ready for the road. Also, it is fun drive off road if the mood strikes me! I have towed it over 10,000 miles so far with virtually no issues.

It shouldn't be a problem. We tow an 04 Jeep Wrangler (3750 lbs) behind our 01 Adventurer 32V. Ours has 310 hp while the one in your motorhome is rated at 305 hp. The hitch rating is the same for both. We've towed our Wrngler over 60,000 miles without any problems.

You didnt mention your year and type of trans/trasfer case you have in your wrangler.

I have a 86 CJ-7 with a 4 spd manual and a dana transfer case. You must disconnect the drive shaft at the rear end before towing. The transfer case does not have any oil pump or pickup when being towed. If you fail to disconnect the drive shaft bearing issues will result.

I do not know if this applies to automatic or the newer transfer cases.

It is a easy and quick job to do it. when I arrive at my location I unhook the jeep, lock the front hubs, put in 4 wheel drive. Move the jeep using the front wheel drive to a location where you can reconnect the drive shaft. Takes me about 5 - 10 minutes.

This also reduces the moving parts in the transfer and tranny cases. Saves on wear and tear.

Those are very easy to tow. I think you would be fine with any RV that has the 4000 lb or so towing capacity.

I tow a 2008 Jeep Wrangler 4 door Rubicon with no problems as long as thetransfer case is set to neutral position and the key is left in on position so steering wheel turns. For a manual, put gear shift in neutral and for an automatic, put the gear shift in park. Also, remember to disconnect the battery or it will be dead when you arrive. A quick disconnect works perfect.

I believe that a manual transmission should be in high gear, NOT in neutral. That's because you don't want the transmission to spin at all, since it's not getting any lubrication.

We have an automatic, so it goes in Park.
