Seems all Suzuki trucks are like this, as our '99 Grand Vitara does this, too. Um, I've still accidently started to take the key out after hooking up at like, 5:30 AM, forgotten to cycle it, and killed a BFG AT in 100 miles. Duh. It now has a permanent spare tire of a 'normal' size.
I check it before I leave now, and make sure not to hook it up before a big ol' mug of tea in the morning. This was on the second trip, I think, and while I've looked under the steering column cover to disable it, permanently, I've not found anything. I mean, nobody in their right mind would *steal* it....

But what I found out on my '92 Geo Tracker, when I drive up to the motorhome and turn the key off, IF!!! I don't take the key out, the wheel doesn't lock. It only locks when I take the key out. I don;t know about anyone elses but maybe.....
