A dealer would never lie about something as crucial as this. Right? I had my heart set on the new 2016 Mini Clubman as our new toad but there were no Minis on the 2015 towable list. The owner's manual says no to flat towing. BUT... the service manager told me that all you have to do is make sure it's front wheel drive, put the transmission in neutral and turn the key so the steering isn't locked. He said he'd look after any problems but said there wouldn't be any related to flat towing. The salesperson backed him up on this by saying they'd look after me if anything happened. When I asked the service manager to put this in writing for me, he said he couldn't.

We bought a Jeep Wrangler.

Only the Cherokee Trailhawks are flat towable. The Cherokee Trailhawk® features the standard Trail Rated® Jeep Active Drive Lock 4x4 system with 4-Low and a rear locker.
