Not according to the owner's manual. I just looked at the current version, and it still says 4 down towing is not allowed for any model.

Do you have a link to anything from Jeep that says otherwise?

If I'd left the stock 3.21 gears in our 2012 Wrangler Unlimited Sahara I'd be still be getting 22 - 24 mpg. I changed them out to 4.10 and average 20 mpg at freeway speeds, up to 22 if all our touring is on country roads. Our '07 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon came with 4.10s and of course a different engine. With that I'd average around 18.

I read it and the dealer confirmed. A dealer wouldn't lie would he? I can research it again.

It's a shame though, I love Wrangler's, but I am looking for something light (to pull with a V10 Ford), gas efficient (use as a daily driver), and can seat 5 people (3 kids). I started to focus on the Renegade, until now . I guess it's back to a Kia Soul, though sad I cannot get the 4x4 I wanted.

Wait, I just realized I may not be reading this clearly, is the Renegade available in a manual transmission and still 4x4? If so, is that flat towable?

We pulled a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with our 35' Tiffin Open Road, also on a Ford chassis / V10. It did just fine.

I was at the Jeep dealer the other day looking at Wrangler Unlimited to tow but still can't bring myself to pay what they want. One of the asst. Sales managers called me later and said trailhawk was towable. I'm skeptical, and have an email into my sales guy to send me a copy of the OM page that says you can towed it 4-down.

The jeep website does not list a manual trans. as an option on the Renegade Trailhawk.

I agree that wranglers are more expensive than the other Jeep models. That said, take a look are the resale value of a wrangler. Other than Toyota Tacoma (at 2 yr) there is nothing else that holds its value like the Wrangler.

For contact info for any Jeep go to Jeep - Contact Us and scroll down to bottom of page for Chat or Telephone contacts. If you are looking at a used one look for "Equipment Listing" on the left side of the page, enter the VIN and you will pull up all the equipment on the unit as it was built.

I bought a renegade because the dealer told me it could be towable

I assume it can still be towed on a dolly?

The 4X4 versions would not be towable on a dolly.

All Trailhawks are towable, because they come with the Active Drive Tranny. The plain jane Trailhawks are not towable because they have a different tranny.

Unfortunately, the Renegade in any configuration (Trailhawk or not) cannot be towed 4-down. There is no Neutral in the transfer case which is the deciding factor here.

Below is directly from the Owner's Manual and was posted in a similar thread.

The Cherokee Trailhawk can be towed 4-down but is a different animal from the Renegade with a different transfer case.
