You're right. I hadn't noticed. Bet I need an 8 inch drop.
Still hoping someone will see the pix and know what I need.

I hope you don't mind if I post the actual pic here, in case someone has missed your link...

I was just thinking that those look more like hitch receivers...hmmmm. I wonder if the previous owner had a toad-mounted tow bar instead of the moho mount?

Hey Max...that may be a Demco baseplate. These adapters look like they might work (but I'm not sure of the measurements.)

Sarah,
Feel free to post all three if you wish. The forum kept saying the file was way too big, so I resorted to using a web site I have access to.
I looked at the adapter, but it's not a square that would go into the receiver. It could be a reverse mount, but who would do that.
Obviously I am trying to make this work as cheaply as possible......like the '98 Cherokee that appeared ready for adapters. After that I figure all I need is cables, electrical and the Blue Ox tow bar I already bought.

there has to be a simple - inexpensive way to make this thing happen. Thanks in advance for your help.

Max, I hope a hitch store can help you solve this. You might post your pics on a Jeep forum to see if anyone has any ideas. Sorry I couldn't come up with a solution for ya.

Max
Could possibly be a Roadmaster hidden hitch setup Roadmaster Inc. - Tow Bars, Braking Systems & RV Accessories

Maybe some one that has a Roadmaster could confirm or reject.

Sarah and Bob,

Thanks much for input. The more I stare at it -- the more I think it's the Roadmaster "XL" series, hidden receiver. I'm going to measure the hold and send it with the link to the pictures to e-trailer today and see what they say I need.

I ussually read the whole thread before replying, but....
Irv2 is not normally the home of the"blind check writer"

Please keep reading, unless you are one with an overflowing checking account, the proper solution is probably not to just take the whole mess to your local rv stealer ooops i mean dealer.

Jim,
You may have what I need. Pictures are at: newphasor.com . Sarah, one company is telling me that I have to buy the whole assembly, because the connector thingy's are never the same. Sounds like B-S. Like no two sets of parts are the same. I finally had it on a lift and it appears to be two pieces that bolt to frame and two thingy's that stick in and pins go through to lock them.

I can't find a way to e-mail you, so please contact me, mturner1947@me.com regarding your aluminum things for the base plate.
