The wife and i are looking into a jeep wrangler solf top for a toad. Wondering how it would tow behind the mh.They are light, with a short wheel base. Can you help out, like you guys aways do.

We have a jeep that we tow with no problem. My husband even had it raised and it nice and even with the ox. We tow behind a n Revolution.

assuming you're talking about a newer JK model, not the lightest toad--2dr is about 4k lbs, the Unlimited is around 4.5k....they are a great toad & pull very easy..

I tow a TJ. Absolutely love it. It's become my daily driver for the last 2 years simply because I enjoy it so much!

We tow a 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and love it. We have about $1700 into the towing system which includes a Blue Ox base plate, SMI Air Force One supplemental brake, and the Towed-Charge system all professionally installed. Now we never worry about a dead battery, hook up very quickly with no hassle, put the transfer case in Neutral with the auto transmission in Park and remove the key from the ignition.

Jeeps are great toads and fun to drive. However their frequency of repair record is the worst of any vehicle on the road. Good luck.

I tow a 2004 Wrangler Rubicon. it weighs about 3500 pounds. It's been towed several thousand miles behind both my pickup and motorhome. Behind the motorhome you never know it's back there except to see it in the rearview camera. Blue ox baseplate and redibrute elite braking system. I think you would be pleased with a wrangler.

We tow a 2002 Jeep Wrangler X (approx. 3,000 lb.) behind our 38' Monaco Diplomat (approx. 30,000 lb.) and only know it's there when I see it on my monitor. Unlock the steering, put the (manual) tranny in neutral and transfer case in neutral, and go. Didn't go for the expensive towing setup though. I use magnetic lights on the Jeep's bumper and tow with a simple bumper mounted tow bar. 8,000 plus towed miles so far this year and no problems.

I tow an 08 Wrangler Unlimited. I set mine up to tow with a Blue Ox base plate, Readybrute Elite towbar with integrated Readybrake and the Cooltech harness. Came out to around $1500-1600. Awesome toad, very easy to hook up and I hardly know it's there going down the road. It's also my daily driver to work.

2007 JK 4 door auto with a hard top here. Roadmaster base plates, Ready Brute / Ready Brake tow bar and brakes. Cooltech Harness. Super easy DIY for about $1400. Not a light weight. Figure about 4500lbs with fuel, liquids and some stowed items inside.

Well thanks for all of your advice.

Went out and got a 2012 jeep 4x4 Wrangler Sport w/ a automatic today. all i need to do now is to get a tow bar. and try to understand this manual. sounds like you got a lot to do. My new question is,

do you leave the key in acc postion, and disconnect the battery. Manual don't say anything but i was looking over other forums
