Jeep Wrangler Towing Harness

Is anyone using this harness on their 2014 Wrangler?

http://www.amazon.ca/2007-2013-Jeep-...I2AITVGQSFJR42

Any feedback appreciated.

I have a Cooltech on my current jeep but wouldn't buy another. When 1st installed , I had problems, called Cooltech and recieved no help. Their customer service is beyond bad. They told me that there was no way their harness was at fault, either it was my installation or the jeep harness was at fault. After a few hours with a test meter and a few beers, I found a broken wire in the harness. It would ohm through but would not carry the load when voltage was applied. It was the ground so it was screwing everything up. I may be an isolated event but the arrogance of their CS lost me as a future customer.

I had the same problems with the CoolTech customer support. Check into the Mopar harness. It is a bit more but seems trouble free.

I have the MOPAR kit on my 2012 Wrangler it works great. When installed be sure that the 12 volt pin on your motorhome plug has power. Search this site and you will find several posts on this subject. Good luck

corvettec3, if you install it yourself be sure and check the hole size for the hole that goes through the firewall. The hole size called our in the instructions was too small for the rubber grommet and I had to in large it after drilling it the first time, which was not a easy task.

Thanks Grant, I will check that. By the way, did you break any of the fender clips during the removal or install process?

Larry with the Mopar, does it hook under the hood of the jeep or do I have to go to the tail lights? It would be great if it would attach under the hood and make the tail lights on the Wrangler work. Is there diodes and all that involved? Thanks in advance. My Jeep is a 2013 Sahara Unlimited auto tranny

Doc, the harness connects into the wiring harness under the passenger side dash panel. It is a fair job to install since you must remove the passenger front fender to drill a hole to bring the harness out through.

Does the odometer rack up miles when towing with the Mopar harness?
