Key Position on Toad
I searched the threads...couldn't find this
While pulling your toad, what position do you set the key to....Acc or On?
My steering wheel doesn't lock

Turn to acc if you need it there to have power to your electrical outlets. If not, leave it off.

What do you have for your toad? What does your owner's manual say?

Per your owner's manual the key position is not important because you shouldn't tow it 4 down.
Dinghy Towing
Notice: If you tow your vehicle with all four wheels
on the ground, the drivetrain components could
be damaged. The repairs would not be covered by
your warranty. Do not tow your vehicle with all
four wheels on the ground.
Your vehicle was not designed to be towed with all four
wheels on the ground. If your vehicle must be towed,
you should use a dolly. See “Dolly Towing” that follows
for more information.

If the steering wheel has no lock, leave the ignition Off. The only reason for having it in another position would be to unlock the steering wheel (necessary for 4-down towing) or if it is needed to provide power to something important, e.g. a toad brake system. In that case, ACC is the choice and never "On".
Your owner manual has a section on Recreational Towing that should explain what to do for your specific year/make/model.

The 2005 Impala CANNOT be flat towed as it is. You can flat tow it if you use a Remco lube pump. I use one on my 2007 Cadillac STS and have had no issues doing so for the last 2 years.
Remco Industries
Remco will also provide information regarding key position (likely as far to the left as you can) and pulling fuses necessary

Indeed, the '05 Impala requires a tranny lube pump for 4-down towing. Assuming Gunny068 has that, he still has to have the front wheels capable of turning to either side as needed. However, he says there is no steering column lock on his, so no need to have the ignition key on to disengage the lock.
And since Chevy does not know about the Remco lube pump installation, the owner manual probably lacks any guidance on this.

No steering lock, no power needed for aux brakes, key position is in my pocket.

Actually I have 2 power ports that are live with ignition off so could power a brakebuddy and still keep key in pocket.
