Electrical fire.

Fuse box on Kia Soul is lokated directly behind radiator on the left front inner fender.
If the wiring of the vehicle was not tempered with (by someone installing lights or something alse) than the fire propably started by shortening main electrical cable from battery to fuse box - all other circuits are fuse protected - including radiator fan.
