Has anyone successfully towed a 2016 Kia Soul Automatic on a tow dolly?

most of the kia soul's i've seen were being flat/4 down towed. check your owners manual. but think just about anything can be dolly towed.

Not all! My '17 Kia AWD Sportage can't be dolly towed. All wheels have to be off the ground.

Store : Remco
Remco says the 2016 Kia Soul automatic has to be dolly towed.

Just about any front wheel drive.

it's been said, rear wheel drive cars can be dolly towed backwards. guess it's AWD cars that can't be dolly towed (or flat towed ?)

Yeah. I was just clarifying. I've seen rear wheel drive cars towed backward, but I'm not sure I'd want to. While we were park hosting last year a fellow came in with an F150 on a dolly backward. It looked like the rear corners could come in contact with the RV on tight corners. But I don't know.

I towed a 2011 Kia Soul, automatic, on a dolly for 30,000 miles.
Steering wheel lock jammed on me once, early on, so I removed it.

Thanks for the reply. Were you locking the steering wheel when towing before it jammed? On the 2016, the wheel locks with the front wheels slightly turned either right or left. I thought I would leave the steering wheel unlocked and strapping the steering wheel down so it will not move. The 2016 Kia has some sort of electric assisted steering and may be different than the 2011 you had.

I don't know about your Kia, but if I don't let the steering lock on our RAV-4 it does fine. I get the wheels centered on the dolly and facing forward. Then when I pull away everything sort of straightens out behind me. If I let the steering lock, like yours, it'll lock a few degrees to the right or left, depending on which way I turned first.

I was leaving it locked. One I removed the sticking lock, I didn't do anything with the steering wheel.
I now dolly tow a Jeep Renegade without a steering lock and still don't do anything with the steering. ( FWD )
It just follows behind me.

Again, not sure about the Kia. But on most Japanese cars it won't lock until you remove the key. So we just leave the key in and lock the door with our other key.
If we want to unlock the steering after it's locked, we can insert key, turn it on, move the wheel back and forth a little, turn if off, and leave the key.
I've considered disabling it. How hard was that?

The big challenge is getting the 2 screws that hold the ignition switch out. They are dome shaped and headless.
After I used a small chisel to tap them loose and remove them, I used a dremel to cut slots in them for reinstallation.
