License plate on tow dolly

Does either the Master Tow or Stehl Tow Dolly have a place to affix the license plate? Online pictures do not specifically show where the plate would be displayed.

I'm not aware of any state requiring a plate on a dolly.

On the Kar Kaddy videos you can see the license plate holder on the pan where the tires go. When a car is on the dolly the license plate folds down out of the way, when empty the license plate is visible.

I will have to research a little more on licensing in Georgia.

EDIT: A manufactured or homemade car/tow dolly is required to be registered in the State of Georgia but it not issued a title in this state (From the Dept of Revenue Motor Vehicle Division).

I would say no license, no title, but it is registered.

I had a Master Tow and it had a bracket on the left fender. I bought it used, but it looked stock. It may be an option.

A plate is definitely required in Georgia.

When we got our Mastertow I emailed our Arkansas state licensing agency and asked. They responded that tow dollies are not licensed in Arkansas. I printed that email and carry it with my other registration papers.

There are a few states that don't require a dolly to be registered IF a vehicle is being towed on it (the cars plate is sufficient). However, they do require a registration on the dolly if it is being towed emptied. I believe FL is one of those states.

I have a license on my jet ski trailer, so it makes sense that a dolly would have a license. I will plan on going to the DMV when I buy the dolly, will be picking up the dolly shortly before I pick up our RV in January.

It sometimes makes little sense. I'd say the car covers the dolly, but the jetski is not licensed for the road, so the trailer should be except ....

my log splitter doesn't have to be licensed

In most states, towed equipment doesn't need plates.

Log splinters, mortor mixers, stump grinders and things of that nature do not have plates.. Tow dollies fall into that category.

Virginia titles tow dollies, but does not issue plates. But my Stehl dolly does have a place for a plate right in the middle.....with no light.

Haven't used the dolly in a long time as I flat tow now. Only holding on to it because it costs nothing to feed it, I have the room, and selling it is a hassle. It also gives me an option if I want to take some other vehicle instead of my normal toad.

WA does if the dolly is towed without a vehicle on it. Once a vehicle is on it then no license is needed on the dolly.
My KK-460 had a folding license plate holder and light for it.
