I am installing a us gear brake controller and I am looking for the brake lite switch but I just can't seem to find it.

1999 Monaco Diplomat 275 diesel.

I have looked by the brake petal and under dash behind the brake petal. Have looked under the left side control switches where the wiring runs thru. Have looked behind the generator but only found 2 switches and neither had any effect on the brake lites. I have even taken off the shroud from the steering column to look in there. I have a test light and am using that to seek out the right wires.

Any input from someone in the know would be appreciated.

Countryauto,
Welcome to IRV2
Unfortunately, I cannot help you with your brake-light switch puzzle, but maybe you can help this person as it seems you may have the coach she is looking to buy..

I know that I have a different MH (2002 Winnebago Ultimate Advantage) but, my switch was under the coach where the air hoses come together under where the brake petal is on the MH. You might look under there for the right wire. When I wired my controller, I tapped in there and ran the wire through the firewall to to the controller.

Hope this might help ?

O2 Holiday Rambler may be different but here goes. Us gear has a web site for Monaco installations or at least some info in a pdf you can download. It seems that Monaco uses the negitive wire for the break lights and you have to get a couple of extra parts. I spent days looking for it and finally called them. Easy after that
