Miata and two wheel dolly
I am looking to purchase a two wheel dolly (buying suggestions) to pull a 2001 Mazda Miata. I have a trailer hitch on the back of my motorhome, but understand I will need electric brakes for the dolly as well. What else do I need? What is good estimate of what I will pay to get this ready to go? All suggestions and ideas welcome. New to motorhome traveling.

Think about a dolly that has surge brakes if your coach does not have the wiring for a brake controller. App.$1200.00-$1400.00 . Tire straps come with the dolly. Thats about it i think.
P.s. You have a hitch already i take it?

You're going to need a drive shaft disconnect, at least. Remco site says you'll need a full trailer to tow it. Application Charts | Remco Towing
In other words, they say it can't be towed with ANY wheels on the ground. They're generally recognized as the toad experts.

I did not look into the towability of your car as i assumed you already knew if it could be towed on a dolly or not...........

Unfortunately that's what I'm reading as well. A dolly will not work. Your going to have to look into a drive on trailer.

Have you looked into towing your Miata 4-down? If it's equipped with a standard transmission, it should be towable 4-down.
I would avoid a tow dolly if at all possible. Added weight, and what to do with the dolly when you arrive at your camping location.
Dollys do simplify braking, but there are plenty of braking solutions in the marketplace to deal with this problem.
I have a 1991 Miata, but have not set it up for towing. I do understand it is possible without modification, other than installing a baseplate, wiring, and braking system. This is how I tow my TOAD, a Chevy HHR.

I tow a 1991 Miata 4 down. I have pulled about 10,000 miles with it and had no problems.
It is a standard transmission.

 .........You would not be the first to tow it backwards on a Dolly.....that's an option you have which requires no added expense. JMHO, I really like my Dolly, there's a vast of Toad's I can tow. Good luck and travel safe.
